Introduction
ezCircuit Designer (ezCD) is a graphical icon based program
for the design of microcontroller based systems. Its simple user
interface allows users to build simple to advanced circuits. ezCircuit
Designer automatically generates and updates circuit schematics, pin
settings, parts lists and test procedures, whilst formatted
documentation structures are given to help with Specification,
Management and Design Documentation. Also, each circuit comes with
software drivers and via a single click export to Assembler or CoreChart
Graphical Assembler, a step-by-step test sequence program that formats
all the necessary connections and variables is generated to help users
start their microcontroller project.
The
Professional version of ezCircuit Designer maintains all the
features of
Standard ezCircuit Designer plus direct single
click interaction to
CoreChart Professional and
support for 25 chips in the 18Fxxx Family, 87 chips in the 16Fxxx
Family, 16 chips in the 12Cxxx Family and 5 chips in the 10Fxxx
family. Hence this covers (a total of 133) 12bit, 14bit and 16bit
instruction set PIC chips. Complete Data Sheets are available for
each chip and ezCircuit Designer can suggest a chip based on the
circuit blocks currently in the design. Both professionals and
enthusiasts can get the most out of ezCircuit Designer.
Programming Support for an Expanded
Set of Chips
ezCircuit Designer Professional
supports the following chip configurations:
PIC10Fxxx/12Cxxx/12Fxxx/16Cxxx/16Fxxx chips ( 12bit instruction
set ):
PIC12Cxxx/12Fxxx/16Cxxx/16Fxxx (
14bit instruction set ):

PIC18Fxxx (16bit
instruction set):

A valuable
library of technical manuals
Included with the CD is a library
containing all technical manuals for all supported chips. These
PDF format documents are all accessible with a single click on the
menu, and include reference documents for the PIC
Microprocessor Mid-range MCU and 18Fxxx MCU families.
Example Projects
Included with the CD library are a
handful of example projects, which aim to familiarise the user
with the features of ezCircuit Designer, printed circuit boards
(PCBs) and how to generate a test program from ezCircuit Designer
into CoreChart. The projects have been carefully designed to be
educational and at the same time being a useful example of
ezCircuit Designer and CoreChart interfacing.
The projects include:
LCD Display
Attach an LCD display to an eLab628
board and display an output message to the user.
LDR Levels
Detect changes in light via LDRs and
convert this information to a format that is understood by the
microcontroller.
Stepper Motor
Learn how to interface the stepper
motor to the microcontroller. A stepper motor may be a very
important component used in your inventions.
Buzzer
Attach a buzzer and with the aid of
ezCircuit Designer and CoreChart, learn how to use delays to
create different frequency noises.
Analog to Digital Converter
Convert analog signals, such as
voltage levels, to a digital format that can be used by the
microcontroller. The A/D converter has up to 10 bits precision
(dependent on PIC chip used).
