eRacer robot

Introduction

elabtronics eRacer robotics kit is the newer modified version of the buggy628. It was created in order to provide an introduction to electronics, microcontroller programming and robotics. It is particularly well suited to educational and hobbyist activities because of its low cost and comprehensive technical documentation. There is a choice of four different packages, ranging from the prebuilt package to the expansion kit. The eRacer robotics kit contain detailed examples of both programming and applications. These introductory projects provide an excellent foundation for the design and development of more complex projects, the scope of which is limited only by imagination.

Features / Specifications
  • Easily constructed by students who have basic soldering skills.
  • Kit supplied with Eracer parts and electrical components.
  • Uses PIC16F819 microcontroller.
  • 14 lines wired for input and output operation.
  • Can be programmed to avoid obstacles, move along lines and even follow a light source.

Input / Output Circuits

  • L293B Driverr chip to operate two independent motors.
  • Infrared transmitter and receiver to detect objects in front of buggy628.
  • Two light sensors on the base of the eRacer to follow lines along the ground and to detect different coloured light sources.
  • One bright red and one bright green LED mounted on the base of the eRacer to emit different coloured light.
  • Two independent red LEDs at the front.
  • One buzzer and one push button.
