Through the use of CoreChart, under-privileged people
in Kyrgyzstan and Malawi have been able to develop low cost control
solutions to aid their communities. In Kyrgyzstan, CoreChart has been
used by local villagers to develop a low-cost temperature control
system for the production of candles. In Malawi, CoreChart has been used by local
technicians to create low-cost touchscreens for use in hospitals and
HIV clinics.
These pilot projects
are now
being expanded as CoreChart Sponsorship For Poverty Relief (CCFPR) in
some of the least developed countries of the world. It is promoted through NGOs and
major global ICT events to provide a sustainable platform to relieve
poverty. eLabtronics believe it will have a profound impact on global poverty
eradication.
eLabtronics
are keen to share their experience at the World Congress on IT
(WCIT2008) in Malaysia on how under-privilege village people acquire
engineering skills and form their own micro-businesses to realize
their dream of empowering their own people to become more self
sufficient through training and start up of ICT enterprises.
CoreChart for Poverty Relief is the brainchild of Peng Choo, CEO of
eLabtronics, who grew up in Brunei.
