CoreChart Discovery enables a wide range of people with absolutely no technical experience to begin learning programming concepts focused on microcontroller application development. CoreChart Discovery allows students to progress through the programming material incrementally by going through the levels that the CoreChart application contains (for a summary of the CoreChart Discovery levels click here). Using CoreChart Discovery, it has been possible to begin educating primary school students in these programming skills; a result that has not been observed anywhere else in the world. 

CoreChart Discovery can be used to control and program eracer_16m robots that have been fitted with an R/F module. The CoreChart Discovery application runs on a PC and interfaces with a CoreChart Discovery transmitter that is connected with the PC via USB. The transmitter then transmits messages to the eRacer wirelessly and the programs produced in CoreChart Discovery are executed by the eRacer. Up to 16 eRacers can be controlled in this way in the one area. In addition, one transmitter can control multiple eRacers from several instances of the CoreChart Discovery application running on a network to reduce to amount of RF interference experienced when many transmitters operate in the one location.

CoreChart Discovery is like a beginning step on the path of learning to program microcontrollers for meaningful applications. The original CoreChart application greatly simplified the process of programming a microcontroller by removing the necessity of learning PIC assembly. CoreChart by itself has enabled many young people (in secondary school) to develop amazing applications for microcontrolers. However, people who have no prior experience in programming at all may still find learning CoreChart challenging. This is where CoreChart Discovery is invaluable, by enabling beginners with absolutely no prior programming experience to quickly acquire the programming skills that they will need when they attempt to learn to use CoreChart. Because of the similarities between CoreChart Discovery and CoreChart, users who learn CoreChart Discovery will not find it difficult to become competent CoreChart developers.

Package Options

The CoreChart Discovery application and(/or) associated hardware can be purchased in one of three ways which are briefly outlined below.

Package includes the CoreChart Discovery transmitter, the R/F module and the CoreChart Discovery application CD. CD contains instructions on how to modify an eRacer for the R/F Module.

Package contains everything that is in the basic package and includes a modified and tested eRacer. Everything needed to use CoreChart Discovery immediately.

Package Price

This package contains only the R/F module for the eRacer. This option might be selected if the customer already has an eRacer and a CoreChart Discovery transmitter. Where multiple CoreChart Discovery robots are necessary, the transmitter can be used in server mode to control up to 16 eRacers. Customers can buy 1 basic package and fit the remaining eRacers with extra R/F modules bought in this package.
